Description
Cheqianzi（车前子） consists of the dried, mature seeds of *Plantago asiatica* or *Plantago depressa* (family Plantaginaceae). Sweet in taste and cold in nature, it enters the Kidney, Liver, and Lung meridians. It possesses the functions of promoting urination to relieve strangury, dispelling dampness to stop diarrhea, clearing Liver heat to improve vision, and clearing heat to resolve phlegm. It is primarily indicated for conditions such as difficult urination, painful strangury due to heat, diarrhea caused by summer-dampness, red and swollen eyes, and coughs associated with phlegm-heat.
