Description
Magnolia biondii is the dried flower bud of Magnolia denudata, Magnolia simonii, or Magnolia wudangensis, all belonging to the Magnoliaceae family. It is warm in nature and pungent in taste, and enters the lung and stomach meridians. It has the effects of dispelling wind-cold and clearing nasal passages. It is mainly used to treat nasal congestion, sinusitis, and headache due to wind-cold. It is a commonly used medicine in traditional Chinese medicine for treating nasal diseases.
III. Usage and Precautions
Decoction: The usual dosage is 3-10 grams. It should be wrapped in a cloth before decoction to reduce irritation of the throat by the villi.
1. External use: It can be ground into powder and blown into the nose or decocted and used to fumigate and wash the nasal cavity (this should be done under the guidance of a doctor).
