HERBA ABRI‌(鸡骨草)is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb classified as a heat-clearing and dampness-dispelling agent. It serves to eliminate internal damp-heat and alleviate pain in the liver region or gastric discomfort. It is commonly employed to address conditions such as jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), hepatitis, and bodily edema caused by damp-heat. Both its leaves and roots are utilized for medicinal purposes. Primarily cultivated in southern regions—such as Guangdong and Guangxi—the humid and hot climatic conditions of these areas contribute to a higher concentration of active ingredients within the plant. Prior to use, it is imperative to remove the pod-like fruits, as they contain mildly toxic constituents.
