1. Disperses Cold and Relieves Exterior Symptoms
1. Suitable for the initial stage of wind-cold common cold, characterized by chills, fever, nasal congestion, and headache. Often used in combination with ginger and saposhnikovia root to help induce sweating and dispel cold.
Relieves wind-cold cough, especially with excessive phlegm and wheezing. Can be used with almonds and dried tangerine peel.
Regulates Qi and Harmonizes the Stomach
2. Improves abdominal distension, nausea, and vomiting caused by stagnation of spleen and stomach Qi. Often used with agastache and dried tangerine peel.
For chest tightness and loss of appetite during pregnancy or due to dampness obstructing the middle Jiao (such as summer heat and dampness), perilla leaves can be steeped in water or cooked into porridge for conditioning.
Detoxifies Fish and Crab Poisoning
3. Relieves abdominal pain, diarrhea, or allergic reactions caused by eating fish and crab. Can be used alone in decoction or combined with ginger and garlic.
